Take Action against Wasteful Spending!
As you may know, our Orange County Commissioners 'sneaked' a referendum into this year's election which was intentionally designed to avoid rural voters. Since the referendum was for a sales and use tax increase, this ploy was key to the success of the action at the polls this Nov. 8.
You have a chance to show the County Commission that this dirty trick is unacceptable and we will not stand for behavior designed to 'trick' the voters of our County.
The Petition to Repeal Levy is the tool we can use to get a new referendum on the ballot in an election in which the rural voters will turn out. Help out by printing copies of the Petition and get it signed by as many registered voters as you can find from Orange County. This petition can be signed during your neighborhood canvassing activities, at churches or social groups and more.
Contact Steven Xavier or David Carter for ideas on getting signatures. If you encounter someone who is not a registered voter but is in Orange County, you can get them to sign as long as they register to vote. (Print several applications for when you canvass with the petition and submit completed applications with the petition pages.)

Important! Please download the petition to your PC and print several copies. This is to Repeal the Sales and Use Tax recently passed due to shady practices by our County Commissioners. We are not able to submit the petitions for a timely referendum on this due to the way the repeal law is structured. However, please use the petition as an optional method to communicate the message of the 'tax and spend' BOCC. If you have already collected petition signatures, save them. The contacts we make will be invaluable for our future canvassing.
